FBC Foley Pastoral Ministry
First Baptist Church is a family. And at the heart of every family is love. Our love for the Lord and for each other. It brings us together. Makes the good times sweeter. And helps us through the tough ones. At First Baptist Church, you’ll find that being a part of a family is a great feeling. There’s the comfort of knowing that you’re surrounded by people who love you, people who care for you. And that’s what FBC Foley's Pastoral Care ministries are all about. Our Pastoral Care ministries are designed to minister to your needs at every stage of life.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry
Lifting up the special needs of our families is an important part of First Baptist's Intercessory Prayer Ministry. If you have a need for which you would like our Intercessory Prayer Ministry to intercede, you may make that request by calling (251) 943-8352 or you can post your prayer request on our website. Your prayer request will be added to our weekly prayer list.
The Pastoral staff and our Hospital Ministry team extends compassionate ministry and prayer to those who are hospitalized through personal visitation in the area's hospitals. Recent changes in the law have limited the information hospitals can give to those requesting information about patients, so it is necessary to contact the church office to report any admissions or surgical procedures. You may call the office at (251) 943-8352
Family Crisis Center
Extraordinary circumstances occasionally create special needs. Our Family Crisis Center seeks to provide food, clothing, gasoline and a limited amount of financial assistance for members to help them in a time of special need.
Family Crisis Center Hours Are:
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 9:00am to 12:00pm
Fridays 2:00 to 5:00pm
Closed on Wednesdays
Our Homebound Ministry Team extends personal ministry by regularly visiting those members who are confined to home or in facilities such as nursing homes and assisted living. Homebound ministry volunteers maintain regular contact with these members through monthly visits, cards, and phone calls. If you would like to participate as a homebound ministry volunteer, call (251) 943-8352 to learn how you can become a part of this rewarding ministry.
Families share their grief at the passing away of a loved one. The First Baptist family is no exception. We endeavor to wrap our caring arms of faith and comfort around families who have suffered loss. When we are made aware of a loss, one of the Pastoral staff immediately attempts to contact a family member to express our condolences in the loss, to pray for the family, and to offer any assistance that the family may request. Our grief ministry provides meals for the family in the immediate days following the death of a loved one. We also provide a meal on the day of the funeral. In addition we offer a grief support group called "Grief Share." This ministry has proved to be a wonderful blessing in helping those who have lost loved ones.
